PNG to SVG Tracer

SVG editor

Make quick changes to an SVG without opening design software. Recolor it, resize it, rotate it, delete stray shapes and export the result.

How to use it

  1. Drop in an .svg file.
  2. Change colors with the swatches, set a new size, or rotate and flip.
  3. Click a shape in the preview and press Delete selected to remove it. Undo steps back.
  4. Download the SVG or a PNG.

What this editor is for

It handles the small jobs that come up all the time: changing a logo to one brand color, deleting a stray speck left by a trace, flipping a design for a transfer, or adding a background before you export.

It is not a drawing program. For redrawing curves or editing text, use Inkscape, Figma or Illustrator. Traced files from our SVG tracer open well here, since each color is one path.

Good to know

Colors are changed everywhere they appear. If an SVG uses gradients, the gradient stops are listed as colors too.

Styles written inside the file are converted to plain attributes when it loads, so the preview matches the original. Scripts and external links are removed for safety.

What the settings do

Colors
Each fill, stroke and gradient color in the file gets a swatch. Change one and every matching shape updates.
Width and height
Sets the size of the SVG in pixels. The drawing scales with it.
Rotate and flip
Turns the whole design 90 degrees or mirrors it. Useful for iron-on transfers.
Delete selected
Click a shape in the preview, then remove it. Undo brings it back.
Background
Adds a solid rectangle behind the design.

What people use it for

  • Recoloring a logo for dark or light backgrounds
  • Removing stray specks from a traced SVG
  • Mirroring artwork for transfers and vinyl
  • Resizing before you import into other software

Questions

Can I edit text?

No. This editor changes colors, size, orientation and which shapes are present. Edit text in Inkscape, Figma or Illustrator.

Why is a color missing from the list?

Shapes with no fill set draw black by default and are not listed. Colors from patterns and images are not listed either.

Does it change my original file?

No. You download a new file. Your original stays as it was.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Tracing and file creation happen in your browser, using code that is part of this page. Your image is not sent to a server. You can check this in your browser's network tab while you use the tool.
