How to use it
- Drop in an .svg file.
- Set the width in pixels. The height follows automatically.
- Choose a transparent, white or colored background.
- Download the PNG.
Why convert SVG to PNG
SVG is perfect for logos and icons, but plenty of places only accept pixels: social media, email, slide decks, marketplaces and some print portals. A PNG gives you a fixed-size picture that opens everywhere.
Because an SVG has no fixed size, you choose it here. Export a small one for a website and a large one for print from the same file.
What to watch for
Text in an SVG uses fonts. If the file was made on another computer and the font is missing, the browser swaps in a different one. Convert text to outlines in your design software first if the lettering must match exactly.
Images linked from outside the file will not load. Embedded images work.
What the settings do
- File type
- PNG keeps transparency and sharp edges. JPG makes smaller files for photos and flat backgrounds. WebP is small and works in modern browsers.
- Width in pixels
- The finished image width. Raise it for a bigger, sharper PNG. An SVG can be made any size without losing quality.
- Background
- Leave it transparent for logos you will place on other colors, or fill it with white, black or any color.
What people use it for
- Logos for social profiles and email signatures
- Icons for slide decks and documents
- Marketplace and print listings that want PNG
- Preview images of cutting and engraving designs
Questions
Will the PNG be sharp?
Yes, as long as you choose a large enough width. The SVG is drawn fresh at the size you pick, so nothing is stretched.
Can I keep the transparent background?
Yes. Leave Background on Transparent and download a PNG or WebP. JPG cannot be transparent.
Why did my text change?
The SVG uses a font that is not installed on this device. Convert the text to outlines in your design software and export the SVG again.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Tracing and file creation happen in your browser, using code that is part of this page. Your image is not sent to a server. You can check this in your browser's network tab while you use the tool.
